Men's Soccer Battles Hagerstown to 1-1 Tie

HAGERSTOWN, MD – After trailing almost the entire game, the Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team scored in the 82nd minute en route to a 1-1 tie at Hagerstown on Tuesday. Angel Calderon scored his team-leading third goal in the game.

Hagerstown took the lead in the fifth minute of the game and outshot AACC, 9-5, in the opening half.

The momentum shifted in the second half as the Riverhawks recorded eight shots in the frame, finally solving Hagerstown keeper Tshimanga Lumu with just minutes left in regulation.

AACC had an opportunity early in the first overtime, but saw Cole Switzer's shot sail high.

After a Hagerstown corner midway through the second OT, Will Belcher fired on net, but Lumu was there with the stop. And in the 107th minute, Hagerstown used a set piece to get a header on net, but AACC goalie Brenden LeMaster made the stop to preserve the tie.

LeMaster finished with eight saves in the game.

AACC returns home Friday to face Howard in a 7 pm game.
