ARNOLD, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team battled visiting CCBC Essex Friday evening to a scoreless first half, eventually falling to the Knights, 6-0.

Freshman goalkeeper Brenden LeMaster made four saves for the Riverhawks, including a jumping dive from a 20 yard direct kick late in the first half.

The Knights (4-1) extended their win streak to four led by two goals and and assist from Rezon Ahmeti. Isaiah Price put Essex on the board in the 54th minute as he kicked a rebound off his own header. Daigo Adachi headed in a cross from Brenden Hollingsworth in the 58th minute for a 2-0 lead.

Ahmeti played a through ball up to Sam Adunah for the Knights' third goal, and then followed with his first goal in the 82nd minute, kicking in a misplayed ball into the open net.

Wilfred Tinay made it 5-0 in the 83rd minute with an unassisted tally before Opare Asihene played a long ball up for Ahmeti to head in less than a minute later to cap the score.

One of AACC's best chances came in the final seconds of the first half as Angel Calderon fired a shot from way outside, forcing Knights keeper Jack Roby to make a leaping stop.

Essex held a 16-5 advantage in shots, and a 4-3 lead in corners, recording all set pieces in the second half.

AACC travels to Cecil College on Tuesday, September 10th for a 3 pm game before returning home to host College of Southern Maryland on Thursday in a 7 pm contest.
