Game Notes

              It was a tough 6-1 loss for the Riverhawks against NJCAA DIII Region XX Nighthawks of Northern Virginia Community College on Saturday afternoon. Despite 7 corner kicks and multiple scoring opportunities in the first half, it was the Nighthawks who were able to find the net twice – taking a 2-0 lead.  

              As frustrations and fouls began to multiply – Ryan Gruss (Pasadena, MD/Chesapeake) was able to capitalize on a penalty kick opportunity cutting the Nighthawk lead to just 1.

              Unable to gain momentum, the Riverhawks would go on to allow Northern Virginia to score the next four goals before time expired for the match. The Nighthawks of Northern Virginia Community College would earn the win, 6-1.
