Game Notes

After opening the season with four straight NJCAA DI opponents the Riverhawks were ready for their first Divisional & Regional/Conference match-up with the NJCAA DIII Region XX Dragons of Howard Community College.

During the first half each team played well at either end of field, trading off scoring opportunities with some excellent keeper saves. As time expired for the first half, the score remained 0-0 with AACC outshooting Howard 8-6.

As second half action continued with each team looking to gain the lead, it was Howard who would find the net first – scoring 13 minutes in, taking a 1-0 lead over AACC. The Riverhawks would continue to push the play, but once again it was the Dragons who would add a point to the board, giving them a 2-0 lead with just 10 min left in the contest.

The Riverhawks would create two more scoring opportunities but were still unable to finish, allowing the Dragons of Howard to finalize the 2-0 win.

Despite losing, AACC would finish the match outshooting Howard 8-6, with goal keeper Austin Noland (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) posting more saves (5-4), and also finishing with less fouls (13 to HCC 27).
