Men's Lacrosse Suffers Setback at No. 5 CCBC Essex

ESSEX, MD – Facing off for the second time in two weeks, the Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team fell to No. 5 CCBC Essex, 17-11, Saturday at CCBC Essex Stadium.

John Thibodeau scored four goals to go with an assist, while Sam Weisshaar had three assists to go with two goals. Francis O'Hara scored twice and added an assist.

The teams traded goals in the first quarter before a four-goal Essex run put the Knights up, 10-6 at halftime. The Riverhawks bookended a three-goal Essex run in the third before adding three goals to the Knights' four in the final frame.

AACC struck first in the third quarter to cut the Knights' lead to three, 10-7, but that was a close as the Riverhawks would get.

Conner Westervelt made 17 saves in his AACC debut, stopping 11 shots in the first half alone.

AACC returns to Siegert Field for a noon game against No. 4 Howard Community College Saturday, April 3.
