ARNOLD, MD – Anne Arundel Community College's men's lacrosse team suffered a tough home opener loss to the Lazers of Onondaga Community College on Saturday, February 23rd at Siegert Stadium.

Onondaga would open up and score first at the 4:20 mark in the 1st period and would go on to score three more goals before the period ended with a score of 4-0.

As the rain began to come down at the start of the 2nd period the Riverhawks would score first in the 2nd period with a goal by Caleb Nash (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) assisted by Jordan Kopf (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis), but it wouldn't be enough as Onondaga would score four more goals before AACC would hit the net again. The first half ended with the Lazers leading 8 - 2 and the Riverhawks would lose Jordan Kopf to injury.

The skies opened up during halftime and it seemed like it would be a good omen for the Riverhawks as they would again strike first in the 3rd period with an unassisted goal by Caden Kote (Crownsville, MD/Old Mill), quickly followed by a score from Conor Mackrell (Millersville, MD/Annapolis Area Christian) off the assist by Chris Greenstein (Glen Burnie, MD/Old Mill), cutting the Lazers' lead by four at the 14:24 mark.

Unfortunately for the Riverhawks, Onondaga would go on a 4-0 run to widen their lead to 12-4 with AACC closing the 3rd period with a goal by Rashaan Johnson (Glen Burnie, MD/Old Mill). AACC would not score again until four minutes left in the game and at this point the Lazers would be leading 16-6 and that is how the Riverhawks season opener would end.
