Game Notes

The Riverhawk men's lacrosse team picked up their second conference (MDJUCO) win of the season this past weekend, defeating the Fighting Owls of Harford Community College, 8-2.

Playing at home, the Riverhawks quickly took control of their field as Nicholas Karnes (Catherine, VA/Battlefield) would win the first face off giving Seth Camphouse (Odenton, MD/Northeast) the opportunity to quickly grab the lead just 49 seconds in. Karnes would continue to absolutely dominate the face-off x, and the Riverhawk offense would not let him down – scoring 4 more goals before the first quarter would expire. Keeping Harford off the board, William Harrison (Chandler) between the pipes along with the Riverhawk defense – AACC would shut down Fighting Owl efforts, to lead 5-0.

The momentum would continue to build for AACC and although the Fighting Owls would get themselves on the board in the 2nd quarter scoring twice, it would be the only goals scored for Harford for the remainder of the contest.

Karnes would go on to finish with a perfect game (14-14) at face-offs while also grabbing 9 ground balls, and Chandler would finish with 16 saves on the day. William Dion (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) and Jordan Kopf (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) would each finish with 2 goals on the day, and Camphouse, Joseph Niles (San Antonio, TX/Northeast), Zachary Gussman (Lake Mary, FL/Lake Mary), and Stephen Moheiser (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) would all score 1 with 2 assists credited to Camphouse, and 1 assist credited to Gussman.

The Riverhawks are now ranked 5th in the nation.
