Game Notes

The Riverhawk men's lacrosse team dropped a tough conference match-up this past Wednesday evening (3/28), 13-8, against host Dragons of Howard Community College.

Playing just as anticipated for the highly skilled match-up, each team worked well on both ends of the field but it was Dragons who found the net first, scoring 8 minutes in after the first face-off. Howard would work to get one more goal in just minutes later, but Riverhawk Zachary Gussman (Lake Mary, FL/Lake Mary) would keep them in check – netting one to put AACC on the board.

AACC would score first during the second quarter to tie the game at 2-2 but Howard respond with 5 unanswered goals before Jordan Kopf (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) would get one in for the Riverhawks. As first half action ended, AACC trailed 7-3.

Howard would score quickly off the opening possession to start the second half but this time it was the Riverhawks who would score 3 unanswered goals of their own as Dylan Morton (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) would sandwich two goals around another goal by Gussman. The Dragons would squeeze one more goal in the final seconds of the 3rd maintaining their lead but heading into the 4th quarter the Riverhawks were down by just 3 goals (9-6).

AACC would work to put up some goals in the fourth quarter, but were just unable to keep Howard from finding the net on their end. Scoring just 2 against Howard's 4 and the Riverhawks would fall 13-8.
