Riverhawks Defeat Lakers 17-3

ARNOLD, MD – Anne Arundel Community College's men's lacrosse team defeated Finger Lakes Community College 17-3 this past Monday afternoon. The NJCAA DI Region 3 Lakers from NY struggled to keep pace with the Riverhawks and fall to 1-2 on the season as AACC improves to 3-2.

Sophomore Jeremy Ross was lead scorer for the Riverhawks with 5 goals on the day. Justin Messersmith followed with 4 goals, Michael Bigelow with 3, Donald Bishop Jr. and Dylan Mansur each with a pair, and Jeffrey Pauley with 1. Important to note – Mansur recorded an impressive 7 assists along with his 2 goals for the day.

It was a smooth and productive day all around for the Riverhawks, out-ground balling the Lakers, capitalizing on clears and man-up opportunities, all the while Messersmith dominated at the face-off X going 17-22 on the day.

Between the pipes for AACC was William Harrison who made some notable saves (10 on the day) to limit the Lakers from finding the scoreboard only three times the whole game.

AACC's next match-up will be another HOME game on Saturday March 25th at Siegert Stadium. Also a Region 20 team, the Knights will be the Riverhawks first Region/Conference game of the season. The Region 20 rivalry is set to face off at 1 p.m.
