Men's Lacrosse Coach Jason Grace

Men's Lacrosse Coach Jason Grace

Former Harford Midfielder Stresses Conditioning and Teamwork

Jason Grace plans to use his background in playing, coaching and strength and conditioning training to boost the men's lacrosse program at Anne Arundel Community College as the Pioneers' new head coach.

Grace was a midfielder at Harford Community College before transferring to York College of Pennsylvania, so he recognizes that starting at a two-year school gives players time to get a sense of college expectations, mature a little and figure out what they want to do before moving to a four-year program.

He sees his job as preparing the players for that next level. Key factors toward that preparation, he says, are building endurance through conditioning and learning to play as a team, allowing them to perform well, whether they are on the field, in the classroom or ultimately, in the workplace.

For the past two years, Grace has been the assistant men's lacrosse coach at Hanover College in Hanover, Ind. His background also includes directing Xcelerate Lacrosse and Harford Lacrosse camps since 2006 and coaching at the college club, high school and amateur club levels in Oregon, Pennsylvania and Maryland. In addition, he has worked with professional lacrosse players on strength and conditioning. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from York College and is working toward a Master of Coaching Education through Ohio University.
