Schwartz All-American at DIII Golf Championships

CHAUTAUQUA, NY – Anne Arundel Community College golfers Luke Schwartz and Michael Weller wrapped up play at the NJCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship Friday at the Chautauqua Golf Course.

Schwartz continued his consistent play with a 79 in Friday's final round to finish in 11th place overall with a four-day 311 (78 average), earning Second Team All-America honors. He finished fourth among individual competitors and led all Region XX competitors. Schwartz completed play among the leaders in par 3 scoring (+6) and par 4 scoring (+15). He concluded the tournament with 38 pars in 72 holes.

Weller shot an 84 on the final day of play to finish in a five-way tie for 42nd place with a four-day 328 (82 average). He birdied the 18th at the turn in the final round and bested his tournament score from a year ago by 32 strokes. Weller finished sixth among players from Region XX and 16th among individual competitors.

Trey Capps of Sandhills CC was the the top individual finisher with a four-day 292 (+4). Georgia Military College won the team championship with a 1235 score, just four strokes ahead of Sandhills.
