The men's golf team shot 682 and took home the runner-up plaque at the NJCAA Region XX Golf Championship Tournament, hosted in Latrobe, Pa. by Westmoreland County Community College on May 10-12, 2015 at the Latrobe Elks Golf Club.
Butler County Community College won the championship with a team score of 638, and advance to the national championship on June 1-5 at Chautauqua Golf Club in Jamestown, N.Y. representing Region XX.
In individual play Pioneer Cheuk Ma finished fourth (164) earning him a spot on the all-tournament team made up of the top five golfers. The top ten finishers including Ma and teammates Thaddeus Dinan (7th) and Aaron Jones (9th) qualified to compete individually at the national championship.
The Pioneers won the region tournament last year so this will be the second trip to nationals at Chautauqua for sophomores Ma, and Dinan who will look to top last year's finishes of 23rd for Dinan, and 25th for Ma.
