Men's Basketball Romps in 105-84 win at Westmoreland

WESTMORELAND, PA – Five different players scored in double digits as the Anne Arundel Community College men's basketball team defeated host Westmoreland, 105-84, Friday evening. Tayvon Williams led the Riverhawks' scoring effort with 19 points off the bench.

Williams went 10-for-10 at the free throw line and hit 4-of-7 shots from the floor. Jamar Young added a double double with 17 points and 11 boards, eight coming on the defensive end.  Michael Sullivan added 13 bench points. Michael Cantrell scored 12 points going 6-for-7 from the floor with a team-high five assists. Davon Jones added 10 points and six boards.

AACC (1-1) more than doubled up the Wolfpack in the first half, carrying a 59-26 lead into halftime.

The Riverhawks shot 52.8% in the game, and sank 24 of 29 free throws (82.8%). The 100+ point game marks the first for AACC in a road game since the Riverhawks' last meeting with Westmoreland on November 10, 2018.  

AACC faces Penn Highlands at 3 pm Saturday to wrap up the Riverhawks' trip to Westmoreland.
