Game Notes

The Riverhawk men's basketball team lost a key Conference, Regional & Divisional game this past Friday night (1/18), as the NJCAA DIII Region XX Owls of Prince George's Community College walked away with the 72-56 win – earning them the No. 1 seed of the DIII Region XX rankings, bumping the Riverhawks to the No. 2 seed. On the road, the Riverhawks faced-off on the Owls home court in Largo, MD at the Prince George's Community College campus.

A rough showing at the hoop during the first half would find the Riverhawks down 35-24 at intermission. Shooting just 9-29 from the floor, 2-7 from beyond the arc, and 4-8 at the free-throw line, AACC struggled to build their momentum.

A more consistent and solid performance during the second half would show improvement for the Riverhawks, but an unwavering showing by the Owls would be enough for them to secure the win. PGCC would out score the Riverhawks 37-32 in the second, totaling the 72-56 win.

Jacoby Rojas (San Angelo, TX/Northeast) would finish with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the Riverhawks, with Dayvon Cuffey (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) finishing with 11 points and 7 rebounds.
