The Details

            Wolfpack Hosts Westmoreland Tip-Off Classic

Westmoreland County Community College – Youngwood, PA

Friday – Riverhawks vs. Lorrain County Community College Commodores

Final Score: Riverhawks 80, Commodores 87

              Box Score: Found here

Looking for their first win of the season, the Riverhawks would unfortunately fall short against the DIII Region XII Commodores of Lorrain County Community College. Fairly evenly matched, the two teams would work to stay strong defensively and despite AACC outscoring their opponents in the second half (39-34), LCCC was able to stay ahead enough to claim the 87-80 victory. Struggling from beyond the arc, the Riverhawks failed to finish once from the three-point line (0-12).

Dayvon Cuffey (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) would pick up his second consecutive double double for the Riverhawks, finishing with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Just shy of a double double, Deondre McNeill (Pasadena, MD/Chesapeake) finished with 13 points with his 9 rebounds, and Jacoby Rojas (San Angelo, TX/Northeast) would finish with 9 points.

In addition to shooting 0-12 from the three-point line, the Riverhawks unfortunately had 9 missed free-throws on the night – easy points that could have changed the outcome. With some great performances still being displayed, AACC is remaining positive as they look towards a successful future.

Saturday – Riverhawks vs. Westmoreland County Community College Wolfpack

Final Score: Riverhawks 101, Wolfpack 65

              Box Score: Found here

Finding their rhythm, the Riverhawks picked up their first win of the season with an exceptional performance defeating the host Wolfpack of WCCC, 101-65. Redemption to the previous day, AACC netted six buckets from beyond the arc in the win.

Dayvon Cuffey (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) continues to be AACC's leading man, 26 points and 9 rebounds on the day. Jacoby Rojas (San Angelo, TX/Northeast) would also finish with 26 points, while grabbing 5 rebounds of his own. With some solid performances off the bench, Dayonte Barnes (Baltimore, MD/Old Mill) posted 13 points with 6 rebounds, and Joseph Chase (Glen Burnie, MD/Churchville Christian) finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
