Game Notes

The Riverhawks would open their season on the road with a tough, 98-92, loss against the NJCAA DIII Region XIX Bulldogs of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology this past Wednesday night (11/7). AACC would finish 54.5% (33-66) from the floor (ahead of TSCT 51.6%, 32-64), but the Bulldogs would also finish with 16 three-pointers giving them a clear advantage over the Riverhawks' 7 on the night.

The starting lineup for the Riverhawks contributed 79 of the 92-point final with Dayvon Cuffey (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) leading AACC with his double double of 35 points and 13 rebounds. Shooting 13-19 from the floor, 8-10 at the free-throw line, and 1-2 from beyond the arc Cuffey's unfortunate foul trouble would limit his presence on the court. Center Deondre McNeill (Pasadena, MD/Chesapeake) would also post a double double on the night, grabbing 10 rebounds in addition to his 14 points. Jacoby Rojas (San Angelo, TX/Northeast) would finish with 17 points, Clinton Smith (Glen Burnie, MD/Old Mill) would finish with 11 points, and Walter Tolliver (Parole, MD/Annapolis) with 2 points and 7 assists.

Off the bench, Dayonte Barnes (Baltimore, MD/Old Mill) would claim the 6thman position for the night, posting 7 points and 7 rebounds. With a mixture a great talent and athleticism, this year's Riverhawks proved they can surely put up the points, but will just need to fine-tune the overall mechanics to start posting some victories.
