Team Effort Grabs Conference Win for Riverhawks

 

ARNOLD, MD – Anne Arundel Community College men's basketball team defeated NJCAA Division I Region 20 Hagerstown Community College on Saturday afternoon. The 79-72 victory marked the first conference win of the season for the Riverhawks, and improved their overall record to 4-8. 

 

Larry Stevenson (Charleston, SC/Sigonella) led with 28 points on the day and came up big for the Riverhawks; draining momentum-changing three pointers through out the second half. Along with Stevenson's scoring drives, it was a team effort that gave AACC the win.  Marcus Dentley (Pasadena, MD/Northeast) put up 24 points on the day, keeping him up top for leading scorer in the conference. Anthony Frazier (Washington, DC/Arundel) netted 17 points while dishing out 7 assists.

 

The Riverhawks put forth commendable effort to take down the DI Hawks of Hagerstown, and with the final 79-72; their efforts paid off.

 

AACC's next game is a conference and division match-up against the Community College of Allegheny County – Allegheny. Tip-off vs the Cougars of CCAC is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday night at the Allegheny Campus.
