Game Notes

Riverhawks picked up a Regional, Conference, & Divisional win on the road this past Thursday (4/26) defeating the Lions of CCBC Dundalk, 8-6.

The host Lions had the 1-0 advantage heading into the top of the 3rd looking to build momentum, but Dustin Gosnell (Pasadena, MD/Chesapeake) and his Riverhawks had other plans. Smashing a grand slam, Gosnell would drive in four of the six runs scored by AACC in the third inning.

The Riverhawks would push there lead to a comfortable six runs (8-2) through the top of the sixth, but the Lions would battle back with three runs of there own – including a home run, to cut the Riverhawk lead down to 3 (8-5). Despite a scoreless conclusion for the Riverhawks, they were able to hold on for the win with a final score of 8-6 over the Lions.

Ryan Richardson (Pasadena, MD/Chesapeake) would earn the win for AACC, pitching six innings – allowing six hits and five runs while striking out ten. Relieving Richardson, Brady Helinski (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) would record the save – pitching the last three innings with three strike outs, allowing zero hits and one run.

Samuel Ryan (Pasadena, MD/Northeast), Brady Ward (Odenton, MD/Arundel), Ryan Key (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park), Blake Rebstock (Pasadena, MD/Chesapeake), Christopher Clyde (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills), Noah Rafsky (Honolulu, HI/Granite Baptiste) and Gosnell were the contributors to the 13 Riverhawk hits in the game. Ryan went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead AACC.
