Softball Sweeps Anne Arundel In Season Opener; Clayton Drills 3-Run Homer
Arnold, MD- The Brookdale softball team swept the Pioneers of Anne Arundel Community College, 10-2 and 18-5. In game one, freshman pitcher Victoria Vogt threw for the win, striking out three batters. Sophomore first baseman Caroline Abin went 4-4 from the plate, knocking out two doubles and two singles. Abin also tallied four RBI’s.

Freshman center fielder Amanda Pringle singled, tripled, and drove in two RBI's while freshman shortstop Cassie Varvaro hit two singles, two doubles and stole two bases.
In game two, sophomore Courtney Semkewyc pitched for the win. Semkewyc also went 4-4 from the plate. Sophomore first baseman Alexandra Clayton smashed a three-run homer and drove in a total of six RBI's for the Blues.
The Jersey Blues are next in action on Saturday, March 14th at Rappahannock Community College.
