WHO IS SWOOP?
Swoop is the official mascot for Anne Arundel Community College. Swoop is a Riverhawk whose mission is to provide a sense of team and belonging to all AACC students, faculty and staff. Swoop is confident but humble, sometimes mischievous, and always fun! Swoop embodies our campus culture of inclusivity, education and success. Whether it’s cheering on our athletics teams at their games, welcoming new students to campus, hanging out in the dining hall, or spreading the image of the college to the wider community, Swoop is always focused on making people smile.
WANT SWOOP AT YOUR EVENT?
We would love to have Swoop make any appearance where the presence of the mascot can make a difference and help connect our students to AACC. If you are interested in booking Swoop please complete our request form (AACC login required). Please note that we require at least two weeks’ notice to ensure we can meet your request and we reserve the right to deny any requests that we feel we are unable to accommodate.

We are always looking for fun, dedicated students with a passion for bringing school spirit with them wherever they go. From performing in costume, to planning events and even ensuring Swoop is always safe, there are a variety of roles you can play in helping our mascot program run smoothly
We are currently looking for Mascot Performers and Mascot Handlers.
· Mascot Performers bring Swoop to life. Candidates need to be extremely energetic, in good health, and committed to “becoming” the character while in costume.
· Mascot Handlers walk alongside Swoop, helping Swoop engage with the audience. In addition, they ensure the safety of both themselves and the performer and even help with building the brand. You will be the voice of swoop. You will also assist with taking photos on phones and distributing giveaways.
