BALTIMORE, MD – Earlier this month, the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) released its 2018-19 All-MD JUCO Women's Basketball team announcing Karley Haensler (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) selection to the women's 2nd team on March 6, 2019.

Haensler was the quiet storm of the Riverhawks women's team this season. Starting in 16 of the 18 games scheduled, she humbly went about the business of making her presence known. Haensler finished the regular season with a team leading 336 points overall and 204 total points in the conference finishing in the top five in MD JUCO scoring.

When asked what this announcement meant to the AACC women's basketball program, Coach Lonnie Makell said, "Having one of our players honored on 2nd team MD JUCO, makes me feel as though we are bringing some top notch recruits and players into our women's basketball program and can compete at a higher level. Karley being named to 2nd team will also lend a speaking point to our recruiting conversation about playing at Anne Arundel Community College and excelling in the classroom and on the court."

Haensler is certainly top-notch catching the eye of several four-year institutions and this MD JUCO achievement should enhance her opportunities. Haensler took the time to comment on this honor, remaining humble, "I am very blessed, extremely blessed."

The season is not over for Haensler as she looks to do even more when she and the Riverhawks women's team head to Bethlehem, PA for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Basketball Championships. Karley and the team will face Hostos Community College at 12pm on March 14th.
