Riverhawk Men's Lacrosse Players Earn All-American

ARNOLD, MD – The 2018 NJCAA Men's Lacrosse All-America Teams were released Tuesday morning (5/29) with two Riverhawks earning spots. Freshman midfielder Nicholas Karnes (Catherine, VA/Battlefield) earned First Team All-American and sophomore goalie William Harrison (Lake Mary, FL/Lake Mary) earned Second Team All-American.

Nicholas Karnes dominated in his role as face-off specialist for the Riverhawks, winning an astounding 70% (193-249) during this past 2017-18 season – ranking him 1st in the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) and 2nd in the nation over all. As part of the face-off regiment, Karnes scooped up an impressive 140 groundballs on the season – also placing him 1st in the conference (MD JUCO) and 2nd in the nation for groundballs.

William (Chandler) Harrison has been in between the pipes for the last two seasons (2016-17, 2017-18) for the Riverhawks finishing with 130 saves for this most recent season. Harrison's 130 saves ranked him 2nd in the conference for saves overall but 1st for fewest goals against (71) and 1st for overall save percentage (64.7) which also earned him a 3rd spot ranking nationally.

Already decided with his commitment, Karnes has signed his NJCAA Letter of Intent to play again for the Riverhawks for the 2018-19 season. 

Congratulations to both Karnes and Harrison, as well as the rest of the Riverhawk men's lacrosse team for a great season.
