Daja Burnett Named to All-Conference Team

ARNOLD, MD – The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) has announced its 2017-18 All-Maryland JUCO Women's Basketball team and Anne Arundel Community College Riverhawk Daja Burnett has earned her spot among the elite list of student-athletes.

Daja Burnett, a freshman from Arnold, MD, has been an impeccable asset for the 2017-18 Riverhawk season and is currently ranked 5th in the conference for points per game, averaging 18.2.  Burnett has recorded 6 double-doubles this season, and scored an impressive season high 35 points in the game against CCBC Catonsville.

The Riverhawks are stuck in a current losing streak, but have high expectations as they head into the NJCAA DIII Region XX tournament this weekend at Westmoreland County Community College.

As the #3 seed, Daja and the Riverhawks will face Westmoreland in the semi-final match-up to see who will take on the Raptors of Montgomery College for the NJCAA DIII Region XX Championship title.

Congratulations once again to Daja Burnett for earning the recognition for her stellar performance this season and good luck as she leads her team into the weekend.
