Riverhawk Women's Cross Country Ranked 8th in Latest National Poll

ARNOLD, MD - The US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings and polls were announced for week 2 with Anne Arundel Community College's Riverhawk Women's Cross Country finding themselves 8th on the National Ranking.

With the season underway, the Riverhawks have been working to improve each meet with an obvious end goal of prerforming their best at nationals. This years NJCAA DIII Women's Cross Country National Championship will be hosted by Holyoke Community College (Holyoke, MA) - taking place at Stanley Park in Westfield, MA on November 4th.

This year's team is made up of Sophmores Caitlyn Shriver (Pasadena, MD/Northeast) and MacKenzie Schwartz (Pasadena,MD/Northeast), joined by freshman Madeline Fitzgerald (Shady Side,MD/Southern), Amaya Odgers (Chesapeake,VA/Annapolis), Madeline Szanyi (Mayo,MD/South River), Heather Verdin (Severn,MD/Old Mill), and Alyssa Baronella-O'Toole (Severn, MD/Old Mill).

The Riverhawks are coached by Head Coach Jim Griffiths who is in his tenth year as head coach and was named the 2016 East Region Coach of the year.

Up next for the AACC Women's Cross Country Riverhawks be a race hosted by Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA. Race time is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday Octoberber 14th.
