ARNOLD, MD –Anne Arundel Community College's men's and women's basketball teams each had Riverhawks named on the 2016-17 Division III All-Region teams. Sophomore Marcus Dentley (Pasadena, MD/Northeast) and freshman Alesha Moses (Laurel, MD/Old Mill) each earned a spot among the Honorable Mention team for Region XX.

It was a tough season for the Riverhawks, as both the men and women's teams were edged out of post-season competition, but despite their seasons ending earlier than they had planned, Dentley and Moses performances during regular season play earned them the Honorable recognition they deserved. 

New to the program this year, Moses started in all 22 games for the Riverhawks, averaging 12.1 points per game with a season high 23 points in the win, 68-44, over the Community College of Allegheny County-Allegheny. Alesha also posted an impressive 7 double-doubles this season. An asset to the team, the Riverhawks are lucky to have her for next season.

Sophmore Dentley competed in the 2015-16, and 2016-17 seasons for the Riverhawks and started in all 50 games that he played in. Earning conference and region rankings for his stellar performances (1^st in conference for his average 22.2 points per game, 7^th in the conference for his average 3PT shooting percentage of 40.0% [1.4-3.6 3PT/G], and 5^th in the conference for his shooting percentage of 81.6% at the free throw line [4.4-5.4 FT/G]) Dentley will be missed as he finishes his career here at AACC.
